I love reading all of these great reviews of DC live! I'm almost positive that I'll be going to see him over Labor Day weekend in the Chicago area, and after reading these reviews, I'm more excited than ever! I hope it's a good show because it's a free outdoor festival where I imagine there will be a lot of people there not specifically to see DC, although he is the only music performer appearing. In the meantime, I just ordered the recent Greatest Hits Live DVD to tide me over until September!

First time I saw David live was in 1974 at Shawfield Stadium in Glasgow Scotland, since then I've seen him every time he comes to the UK. Every time he is brilliant, and just looks great and sounds even better. COME BACK SOON DAVID WE MISS YOU.

Laughing WOW YALL!! All these posts are great!!! You are so so lucky, Mental Cassidy Fanatic!! Getting to see him as often as you do! I'm so jealous!! I am keeping my eyes and ears open to see if he will come any where near me in the next year and if so you can bet I'll be the first one
in line for tickets!! My guy is three years younger than me and can't understand the big deal with DC after all these years! I tell to please indulge me and let me have my dreams of one day going to a concert and try and get as close to the stage as possible, plus attend the concert
with me!! We did see KC and the Sunshine Band (another of my loves for 30 years plus!) in concert at the Three River's Festival back in April here
in Columbia. It was GREAT!! But bottom line I would love, love to go to a DC concert!!!

Thanks again yall for the great posts!

Pat

We saw him a couple years ago at a casino in central Minnesota. He was great! Looked like he was having a blast, and did quite a few PF songs...including "Summer Days!"

And he had a butt you could eat breakfast off of.

Woof.

When I saw him live for the first time about 3 years ago here when He was touring for Harrah's I became 12 again. Fortunately, my husband was very understanding.

(It helped that I went to see Paul McCartney with him just before this)

It was a fabulous show and one I like to relive with the DVD's.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, Laughing but here goes:

I've seen him in concert about 6 times. I can't go anymore, because the freak show in the first 5 -10 rows is too distracting for me. That, and he gets too distracted by them on stage and stops singing too many times. I'm there to hear him sing -- not to watch a side show. It's unfortunate because the few concerts I have enjoyed where the freaks were in "low gear" (The Greek, and the symphony concert) were awesome. "D

The concerts I've enjoyed the most were certainly the ones that took place in venues that have tight control over the front rows -- all theaters (including the Greek). Casino shows...I all done with those.

I agree with you Scott.
I was more than a bit nervous when I saw my first concert (Fraze).
Especially from the previous concert reviews I had read.
I had a wonderful time. Very Happy

Has anyone been to see him at the Mohegan Sun Casino in CT? He'll be there in October and I was wondering what I might be in for there.

I have seen David perform at Mohegan Sun Casino as a freebie show over by the Wolf's Den I beleive it was. It lasted about an hour and a half.
The guy still rocks!! Alot of what he performed was kind of like freestyle stuff and adding some retrospects about him and John Lenon and several other tidbits about his youth at the time. He said that he enjoyed mixing things up a bit and not sticking to any particular set of songs he performed. All in all my wife and I enjoyed it and reminisced about our favorite show growing up at that time, great nostalgia night and we saw the show for free. Very Happy

Thanks JH! I'm debating if I'll go to his solo concert or the Rat Pack Is Back. There both free there in October.

I'd have to agree with Scott. I go to see him perform. The shows that he does in bars, are absolutely ridiculous. I try to catch his shows when he plays in SoCal.
Caught one a few years ago for is birthday (which was COOL) in Agoura Hills. David doing his show for people who have had a few drinks is quite the amusing thing Confused. I have noticed that his concerts in bars are usually about a half an hour less than his theatre shows. Maybe it is the lack of intermission? Think Maybe if he could put on more of an 'bar mentality' he could control the 'freak show' a little better. Is is distracting though. But I find it an interesting contrast to his theatre shows. Wink

There is no mystery about why DC's shows in casinos are shorter -- casinos generally restrict performance time to 90 minutes. They have shows to get people into the casino, but they want patrons to be on the floor gambling, not in a chair watching a concert. Lots of money to be made in that 1/2 hour.

DC isn't on the bar circuit. I think the Wolf's Den's performance space is open and surrounded by a bar, but he doesn't go around the country playing bar gigs.
