Shall we talk clothes? Laurie and Rachel's concert dresses. EEEWWWWW.

I really like the message of this one. It's funny too.

Danny: I refuse to get in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

It's great that 'serious' music is depicted as durge-like and heavy.

Rachel: Making people happy doesn't make sense.

How often have I heard our PF is bad because it's uplifting and 'lightweight"? Often.

It seems KP dates Rachel for awhile.....very unusual......She sits there with an idiot grin on her face listening to Ricky (like the rest of the family). She must really like KP to listen to that!

By far, my favorite episode of the fourth season, with some of the best lines in all four years.
Walter Yost : Music is music. I find your songs charming.
Keith : you've heard them ?
Walter : Yes, from time to time, on the radio. They make me happy.
Keith : Yes, but they are just not important.
Walter : Don't you thing making people happy is important ?
As if Bernard Slade had written those lines specifically for David Cassidy who despicted PF music at the time.
Yes, the PF made and still makes me happy. Very Happy
And Shirley is sooooooo beautiful. I can't get over her, when she sings, at the end, the

Interesting that the choice of concert music is "I'm Into somethng Good"

I Like the song, but it was already made famous by Herman's Hermits and is unreleased on any PF Album. Story wise it seems like the concert song should have been a tune penned for the PF to showcase the happy music that "Keith Partridge" writes.

Loved that during the sequence of scenes showing Keith writing his masterpiece that the background music was "I think I love you" in a classical style with lots of strings. Really translated well.

(Reminds me that I need to get a CD version of Symphony and Metallica since I no longer have a tape player in my car Smile)

It is a nice play on the way PF music is perceived these days. Also, a nice contrast personally as I was classically trained in my piano lessons and sometimes struggle to be a better pop music player.

Oh, I forgot to mention that this ep. is a good example that the show was written for adults as well as kids.

When Keith says he just needs 3 minutes alone with Rachel in his bedroom, and the following back and forth between him, Shirley and Laurie, it was obviously meant to go over a child's head. While all the adults knew what a boy can do in just three minutes! Twisted Evil
