Hi All,
The lovely Sabrina (Daydreamer72) gifted me with a number of the PF mysteries. (What a gal!) Well, I read them like the un-collector-collector I am and the glue was so dry and old they've been falling apart. The spines are fine, it's just the pages.

Any of you guys know a safe glue (or technique) I can use to put them back together?

I just bought 3 of the mysteries on Ebay....ugh....the collecting has started!! Very Happy

On a side note, it's funny how the Keith and Laurie characters in the books are so different than on the show. Keith is the brave and wise man of the family and Laurie is a boy crazy ninny. They seem to have switched brains. The other members seem about the same. Fun to read.

Don't feel bad... I read all my stuff too.
I just try to be very careful.

Fortunately, I did manage to find decent condition copies of the books and comics.
Collecting is fun, but just to have put up on shelf is dull.

The books do portray the characters a bit differently. I guess it's because the stories are a long form mystery and not a comedy. But then I take it the same way fiction from Star Trek was.. it's not canon unless it aired on TV or screen.

Thanks for the support! I begin to believe I'm frittering my middle years away on PF silliness! It is fun though...

Any suggestions about the glue problem?

I do agree Keith and Laurie are very different in the books then in the TV series. They are very fun and interesting to read and have very good cliffhangers in them. I have a few myself and they are in okay condition.

wow, this was from a while back, just noticed it, but I'll answer anyways... on a lot of mine, the glue dried out and the pages started falling out....I repaired mine with Elmer's Glue, it worked fine and they look as new....you just have to be careful and very crafty...it has worked for me on many of my old paperbacks...eventually the original glue always dries out
