Can't wait for Top Chef! That and Runway are the only reality shows that I like. Once again I'm vowing not to watch American Idol. I say that every year. Laughing

When Idol first premiered and became the big hit that it did, I vowed never to hop on that bandwagon with the rest of America (whose musical tastes I often question). And I didn't for the first three seasons. And then I found myself watching at the beginning of the fourth season. I SWORE I was only going to watch the audition episodes and that's all. But I kept watching. And each season after that I swore I wasn't going to watch, but of course I did. So when the next season begins in January, I'm not even going to bother saying that I'm not going to watch because I know I will so what's the point. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I think I can avoid watching at least the audition episodes. They're boring at this point...some old stuff. I'll probably start watching when the get to the top 10.

But I have started watching the Amazing Race this year. Something compelling about that one. Team dynamics, travel snafus...I kinda like it.

I don't care for the AI auditions, either. I start watching during Hollywood Week.

I've never seen The Amazing Race, but I've heard good things about it. I think I'm on reality show overload, though. I'd be too embarrassed to list all the ones I watch. Embarassed

I'm ADDICTED to The Amazing Race, and have been for several seasons now. The travel snafus PJ noted sometimes remind me of that old movie, "If It's Tuesday, It Must Be Belgium"! Like most, I've always wanted to see the world -- but, clearly, not at such break-neck speed! YIKES!!! Laughing Shocked Wink

I find the interpersonal relationships the MOST interesting, of course: I dunno HOW ANY of the pairs manage to keep it together all things considered -- unless, of course, their reactions are somewhat scripted. But what is WITH that guy who's always WHINING!!! How his girlfriend puts up with him is beyond me! God, if I was her I'd be ready to saw my ears off, or sew his lips shut, by now! Shocked Rolling Eyes Laughing

It's hard not to watch the Amazing Race with your most frequent travel partner in mind. I always look at a situation and wonder how hubby and I would deal with it. Would we squabble over this or that? Snipe at each other. Yeah, probably. Laughing Happens when you're tired and stressed. Whine? NO. No whining allowed at our house.

I have to mute that whining boyfriend on Amazing Race. Place he micromanages. So shut up, dude. I was glad that those two dippy women went home last night. Cuz they give women a bad name. I like the brother and sister team. And I can't help but like the two dweeby geek frat boys. Wink

Oddly enough, I've never watched Survivor (the original reality show).

Thanks, PJ. It looks like this should be an interesting season.

I wonder why Ted Allen was replaced as a judge? I really like him. I'm off to Google that...
