I'd like to see these as large posters hanging wherever DVD's are sold. Sales would go way up from the added awareness and sense of acceptance. The captions should read "Now on DVD."

Really, really, really liked the Bell Records, Family Musical Staff, ABC & Screen Gems logos at the bottom of the Monday 'The Partridge Family' posting. Your artwork would have been really great on street billboards in the '70's.
Just feel like they need a very big canvas. Or like nowadays, on the side of an office building like the have here on Sunset Blvd.

I must agree that Marquise did a GREAT job on these "fake" ads!! They
really could/should be used somehow! I too loved the use of those logos
that will always be etched in our brains! Marquise are you in advertising
or graphic art? if not, you SHOULD be!! Great work, Ralphie

I myself am only an ametur art appreciator (more in Anime and Manga) but i think that this is something you should seriously consider. From what i can see you have a lot more patience with photoshop than i do! And you can earn a lot of money on it. May i reccomend posting up your art on

www.deviantart.com

This is a fab art community based online, people can comment on all types of art and can sell off prints of their pieces to others. Its a great place to start if it is completely independent.

The world can never have too many artists, regardless of how it is produced.

I really am determined to help you on this Very Happy mainly because i have known people who have let their talents fizzle away because of lack of determination. Computer aided design is still rather underappreciated in todays art world, so it really is worth a shot. And so rewarding too, because you earn a living on things you enjoy doing.

just out of curiosity have you done any other pieces? (PF or non-PF related?)

Laurie,

I'm basically starting out with the graphics. I've been drawing since I was a kid and it's been touch and go for some time with that. I do it on the side. I recently started fooling around with my photo program on my pc and while I was deciding on a subject to work on "The Partridge Family" was playing on my PC so I decided to combine my love for art and my love for the show into one. Then I decided to create stuff around the show and it's premise. The Partridges are my first project.

I basically put myself in a situation of how I would go about promoting this show today if I worked for Sony. What would I do with all existing elements from the show to make it appealing to today's audience and bring back fond memories to the show's loyal fans without alienating them in the process and the ads you see now are the result.

I have to admit I do need a little push getting started. I want to thank you for your interest and that link you provided. I am most definitely going to check the site out.

If you care to send me a private message and we can discuss this further via e-mail!

Thanks again form one fellow artist to another!

Marquise

All of the backgrounds for animation are now painted in the computer. These programs have amazing "brush" tools that allows the artist to get a variety of styles, from watercolor to airbrush. It's truly amazing what can be done now. Lisa, if you want me to check into the programs they use, I can ask for you. Very Happy
