Mine was either ITILY or Osmonds' One Bad Apple, but I don't honestly remember which one came first. Very Happy

I think the first single I ever had that my parents bought me was Please Please Me by the Beatles. First one I bought myself was Valarie by the Monkees.

Well my mom would have actually paid for this, but my first single was probably by Josie and the Pussycats! I can't remember the songs, and it may have been more than one single, but I think they were something we had to send for off of a cereal box. That's the earliest memory I have of buying a single. After that, I can't remember what the first single was that I would have bought with my own money, but I sure remember buying a lot of them. Wow--that was one of the most fun things in the world for me. Then when I would actually have enough money for a full album! Those were the days!

There were four Josie and the Pussycats singles, offered as mail-away premiums through Kellogg's cereals. Very Happy I remember getting those too. If you like that music, Rhino Handmade released a great compilation of the Pussycats' music a few years ago. You can find it on eBay from time to time. Oh -- and here's the PF connection: Danny Janssen wrote/produced all of the music for his LaLa Productions. Very Happy

And who did the lead vocals for Josie? I remember it being someone that you would go...."I didn't know that" (Still don't know, for that matter) Was it Jackie Ward? Or maybe it was on the show PF2200AD? Sorry guys! This is what I get for hopping on here BEFORE having coffee Cool . All I recall is that there is some Partridge link to the Pussycats. But I could be wrong. I'm going to Starbucks........

Wow--thanks Scott! I wouldn't have thought anyone would remember that. I thought it was more than just one single. If only I still had some of this stuff!

Cheryl Ladd sang most of the lead vocals for Josie and the Pussycats. Then, she went by "Cherie Moor". An LP was released through Capitol Records in 1970/71 which can also be found on eBay from time to time. Very Happy There is no real connection between Josie and the PF 2200AD music, except that Danny Janssen remembers writing a few songs for the PF cartoon. Otherwise, the singers were all studio session singers, never credited.

That was it! The Josie/PF connection. Wasn't Cheryl Ladd on the show as Cheryl Stoppelmoor? Sorry, I probably misspelled that really bad. Embarassed

She was in a Season Four episode titled, "Double Trouble" billed as Cheryl Ladd. Very Happy But Stoppelmoor is her maiden name, and one she used till she got married to Alan Ladd's son, David. :D

Why, oh why do I have this useless trivia stored in my brain?? Laughing

And to get this thread back on track, ITILY was the first single I ever bought and the PF Album was the first LP I ever bought. (Well, technically my parents bought them for me).

Hmmmmm... Good Question... Now.. are you talking... what was the first one my parents got for me or the first one I actually bought???? <<lol>>

Well.. I'm sure the first one I actually bought was probably "I Think I Love You" believe it or not. (I think it was anyways)... I was in 5th or 6th grade at the time...

Quit making me feel so old!

I'm 18, I dont know if it is a good or a bad thing! Embarassed

Lizzie is probably the youngest on our board at 12-13.

Great to see more youngsters liking the PF though! Everybody thinks i'm strange for liking the Partridges. But they just don't apprecciate good music!

I remember Aqua's barbie girl, that was awful! lol

I wish some of my first singles were of the PF or some of the others on here, the majority of you have got good taste Very Happy
