AWESOME WORK, JOEY!!! You should have asked why they chose that song.....but that's okay. It's way cool that the PF pops up when we least expect it!

Actually, at first I thought it was either the Chipmunks or Josie and the Pussycats. But then I remembered they don't have deep enough voices. THEN I thought it was the Brady Kids, but then I remembered they sing off-key. So by process of elimination, it became David Cassidy and the Partridge Family.

Unless it's the Sugar Bears?!

The Banana Splits? :?

Will you respect me in the morning?? Laughing Laughing

Shawn, I hope you realize the sarcasm and emoticons in my post above (5/17) were pointed at myself?

Oh yes, I certainly did. That

When I first heard the commercial I knew it was DC and the TPF. That always was a catchy song. Glad to hear it again!

Of course over here in the UK we haven't seen it and probably won't. In fact I can't remember the last time I saw an ad for 7Up, buuuttt if they were to show it, I promise I'll go and buy a bottle Pray

It's definitely the Partridge Family with David on lead vocals. I just went to the 7Up website. And if I remember correctly, on the back of the Sound Magazine album, David listed 7UP as his favorite drink.

Thanks I have listened to it on the 7 Up site and I was sure it was the PF. It's true that it's mentioned on the back of Sound Magazine but excuse me for being cynical but I don't think that David really said that, probably just another marketing ploy.

Hmmm -- you could be right. But, I do know that Brian and Suzanne answered all of their own questionaires in Tiger Beat's Official Partridge Family Magazine, so it's possible there's a bit of truth in the answers. :D

Okay, Joey -- you found the definitive answer for us as to whether or not it was The Partridge Family's version of "Sunshine" used on the 7-UP commercial. (What bozo couldn't recongnize that??!!) Your next assignment is to find out if 7-UP was actually David's favorite soft drink in 1972. Maybe if you get a Meet and Greet at his next concert he'll --- oh wait. He doesn't stay long enough to answer questions. nevermind Laughing Laughing

It's wasn't his favorite drink in 1972, he even said in his book "C'mon get happy, fear and loathing of the Partridge family Bus" that it wasn't, they just said that.

Scott, I'd be happy to oblige but something tells me he'd slap me silly before he'd answer my query. Shocked

I'm guessing 7Up probably was his favorite drink back then... especially if he was using it as a mixer with stuff a bit uh... more potent?? Cool Let me look over that RS interview one more time just to be sure... Rolling Eyes Wink

um, if you guys look in the back of the Sound Magazine cd, it says right there that 7-up was David's favorite drink under "My favorite things" him and Shirley's go check your cd's out! Very Happy

Um, Lainey said that a few posts above. The question was, is it accurate or something that the record company made up, in order to make the Sound Magazine cover resemble a teenybopper magazine.
