I think Brian is great! He really proved that he was more than just a cute kid. What really impresses me is that he actually took the time to learn about the drums to make it look realistic. He had a lot of determination at such a young age! He really put his heart and soul into the show.

i couldn't agree more laurie! i'm glad there's another brian fan out
there. the sad thing is, brian forster doesn't think he was all that
important to the p.f. because he only had a few lines. if you take an
ingredient out of a recipe, see how that changes it!

can you imagine the p.f. performing without a drummer?

Definately! The only thing i critisise the scriptwriters for is not giving Brian and Suzanne more lines. They were just as much part of the show as David Cassidy and Shirley Jones. Thats the great thing about this site in particular is that fans have the chance to read the interviews with them, there was so much i never knew about either of them until i read the people and places section.

Actually, it is drummer Hal Blaine doing the drumming for the recordings but Brian on TV does it better than Jeremy!!

Maybe this is not so, but the thread made it seem as if peope did NOT know Brian wasn't really drumming! I can see why Matthew posted as he did. Wink

Oh, *I* know that! But I can see how Matthew misinterpreted the conversation.

I guess it depends on just how big of a rock you live under, I suppose. Wink

Ya know, Brian may not have actually recorded the drums, but I know for a fact that Simone actually got sprayed by that skunk. Oh -- and Goose really crushed that "boid," too! Laughing

Y'know, since we all drool for trivia, it might be a good idea to include tid- bits like that somewhere here. I know I'd read them avidly. Pray Dancing Pray Drool

Also, in the last scene of the pilot, "Debbie" plays those skins like an adult. Crazy, man!

Brian Foster rocks man!! C'mon he did it all with a semi straight face.
Seriously though he did a decent job as the pseudo-drummer.

i'm glad to see there are other brian forster fans out there. by the way-
happy birthday brian!
laurie i think you were right when you said brian and suzanne didn't
get enough lines. i thought they were great in "home is where the
heart was" and "tale of two hampsters" but brian forster really shined
in "i can get it for you retail" i still laugh when he's helping danny cut
keith's hair off!
and as for brian's drumming, i think he had the hardest job being a
a musician in the p.f. because the drums are the toughest to imitate,
especially at such a young age.
i never knew he only had a week to learn a new song.

I'm a Brian fan too!
I was in 1st/2nd grade when the show first aired and i watched it every week. It was so cool to see a kid, not much older than me, playing drums in a rock n' roll band. I even made a makeshift drum kit to play, although my parents were a little more enthusiastic about me playing guitar (hmmm....). And today I can play Louie, Louie very well lol.
Not only that, but Brian came across as someone who was genuine. A person that you would want to be friends with, and not just some stuck up TV star. As I've heard, that is true, and he is a very nice person. The Partridge Family wouldn't have been nearly as good without him.
Which leads me to Susan C. I've read recently that she wasn't on time with her tambourine, but I never noticed! Same situation, someone my age in a rockin' band. Cool! and she seemed friendly too.
I really enjoy episodes like " I can Get It For You Retail" and "Home is Where the Heart Is" because they offer the characters of Chris and Tracy more lines. It is probably true that the lines were given to the most popular actors. However, had there been a 5th season, I would hope that the younger Partridges would have had more exposure.

All the best,
Michael.
