Screen Gems trade ad for The Partridge Family's syndication debut. From the February 18, 1974 issue of Broadcasting Magazine.

Thank you for posting this. But I question the date because The Partridge Family was still in it's 4th season on ABC in Feb. 1974. First run episodes ran through March and then reruns till Sept. 1974.
Is the magazine from Feb. 1975? |

I think this ad was to sell the syndication package to the TV Stations for the season after the network run. This would have to be done in advance. _________________ Kathy in St. Louis |

You need about 4 seasons worth of episodes to get a show syndicated. Regardless of whether the PF came back for season 5, the show was due to be syndicated in the fall of 1974. The date is correct. |

Thank you Kathy STL!
So the PF would have gone into syndication even if a fifth season on ABC occured? Ok- thanks! |

That is really neat! Besides being obsessed with the PF, I'm also crazy about Bewitched! It's neat that there was an ad with them both. Thanks again! _________________ Till' next time!

Thanks for posting this! I always like seeing the old advertisments for the show! And thanks for the information Scott! I did not know that a show had to be at least 4 seasons long to make it to reruns. I do see how they would have to announce it in advance also. |

May 20, 1974 Columbia Pictures Television trade ad for The Partridge Family's impending (and immediate!) syndication run, 2 months after its last first-run episode on ABC (and right after Screen Gems transitioned to Columbia Pictures TV!)!
