I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get to this til Monday.

However, this is a fun topic and I thank everybody for starting this.

My husband watched the beginning and did recognize all the background houses when they pulled away. The first fantasy made me think of Snoopy and the Red Baron.

It was funny how every officer that Shirley saw showed up when they realized that Danny was too young, however it is typical CYA when the official reason is not his age but his height.

The recording session scenes though were something that made the concept of the the Family believable and actually were my favorite part of the episode, but since this a comedy the story line would not be about that.

Can't wait til next week. (well I know I don't have to wait to watch , but can't post til then and that's the fun this round.)

I thought the recording session was written quite believably. Did you notice, in the beginning, that they were just laying down the music tracks? Shirley was sitting off to the side. Then, afterward, they recorded the song with just the vocals, with the family wearing their headsets. I dunno why but that attention to detail is fun for me. Very Happy

Kathy, that's funny that it reminded you of Snoopy and the Red Baron! I probably would never have thought of that myself, but I know exactly what you mean! LOL! That's what I really like about this "club". Everyone's observations add something to somebody else's enjoyment. Cool.

I've had a hard time "finding time" to watch an episode for the first few weeks, so I posted late every week until now, but that's another great thing about this. Someone can come across this thread six months from now and decide to watch the episode and add something. There's no time limit on when we can add in our own thoughts, so there's no pressure. It's all all the way around!

Scott, do you know why they did the recording sessions differently in S2? Was it Larry Rosen's idea? Confused

I love the song On The Road, and the contrasts of male and female voices in turn. Iím having a hard time imagining how it would sound with David as lead vocal. And I like how they played recording it. Love the close-ups. Very Happy

Isnít this the first episode with Davidís feathered haircut?

I love what Scott says in the Season One special features about this song.

The last 2-3 min. of this clip.

Do you mean the blooper about David lip syncing to two different voices in the song To Be Lovers?

Wow, I think I may have seen this so long ago that I didn't make the connection between Scott here and Scott there. Nice job, Scott! I know we're very lucky to have you sharing your knowledge and running this site!

I also think that Jeremy really does a good job. It sounds like he wasn't cut out for the long hours of the set, but to me, it seems like he did a great job with the few lines he had.

I also think David did a great job in all the music playing scenes and in his role as head of the band. Totally believable, to me anyway. He had that nailed. But I guess it wasn't too much of a stretch since he was already a musician and used to performing.

I think Shirley was fantastic all around. Gosh, what a lovely mother she played. I can see why kids ended up on her lawn.

I just wished they had done DVD special features for the other seasons.

When they show the family listening to the record on tape, Laurie taps her foot and Keith sorta sways in time to the music for a few seconds after the music stops.
