A couple schemes to get the Family to appear at the annual Fair to help a Natvie American reservation.

A reappearance by Harry Morgan is part of the charm of this episode

Songs: Rainmaker, and Come on' love.

Like the fact that this is two song episode. When Keith discovers the Radiator sealant the plot reminds me briefly of the PF paperback novels of the time. wonder if this episode was part of the inspiration.?

Once again the PF show is more than a sitcom as it highlights a social issue .

Gotta smile thought at the sight of Reuben when the reservation men play to scare him and later when he shows up in full regalia.

I admit this is an episode that I forget about and didn't recognize until I started it. That's the fun of this thread, Keeps me from watching the same ones over and over again

I always enjoy watching this episode. Chris and Tracy have lines! Yay! ;-)

Ah, the days of no VCRs or very few syndicated reruns. Back then, I'll bet none of us said, "Hey, that old dude with the mustache is the guy who sued The PF back in episode 2!" Such an innocent, not-nitpicky time. (Not that I'm griping. I'm king of the nitpickers!)

I love them using the word "Indian" so much. A few years ago, I was doing a news story on a local Native friendship center, and I asked one of the organizers, "What do you prefer to be called: Natives or Aboriginals?"

He looked clear into my eyes with a smile and said, "Indians!" (Of course, I could never do that. Our listeners would revolt! ) Laughing

This is really a forward-thinking episode (forgiving the now-vaguely offensive terminology). I don't remember any other TV show of the time shining a light on the sorry conditions on Native reservations.

It was lucky the Partridges stumbled onto a reservation that--despite its poverty--had so much spare shampoo and conditioner. Everyone looked great when they were performing, "Come On Love"!

And as always, poor Rueben. Laughing
