Wow-first news about TPF Season 2 and now Bewitched!! I do have to say that I'll be really upset if Season 2 is only released colorized, although I heard a rumor that Season 2 would include both the original B&W and colorized versions in the same set using double sided disks perhaps? I think someone posted about this either at Sitcoms Online or the Home Theater Forum. I guess I'm not exactly a fount of information, but it is just a rumor. It doesn't surprise me that the colorized set sold better seeing how many stores only carried that version and every ad I've seen for the set only showed a picture of the colorized set. Oh well, hopefully the plan will change! I did finally see the movie last weekend and was pretty disappointed. I didn't think it was terrible, just okay, which isn't saying much.

Well, I saw the packaging and that includes the disc art. If they were going to use flipper discs, there wouldn't be any need for disc art. Laughing But, this is why I am always hesitant to share info before a release. Someone somewhere always knows someone somewhere with conflicting info. Laughing Laughing And since these types of things change daily, my week-old info could be out-of-date too. Very Happy

They look like porpoiseseseses. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Actally, flipper discs are the ones that are two-sided. Many of the hour-long dramas are flipper discs so that they save space in the box. If you use flippers, you can't print on them. Very Happy

The "porpoise" of that is...
The DVDs get damaged easier and you have buy the set several times.

Well, I hope Sony reconsiders and for BW Season 2 again releases both B&W and colorized versions! It'd be a shame to not be able to see it as it was intended to be seen. Shocked

I wonder if the B&W didn't sell as well only because it's harder to find? Every time I go browsing somewhere and check up on it, there always seem to be twice as many color boxes as B&W!

Despite all this, I was looking at a trade the other day (I think it was Hollywood Reporter) with a sales "TV on DVD" chart and was happy to see that BOTH BW boxes were in the Top 20, with the B&W just about 4 or 5 positions lower than the color set (which I think was at #12 or #13!) -- which I thought was pretty darned good (especially given all the competition)! :D

Yeah, Liz! Cool

Good news for Bewitched fans:

Sony has changed their minds, and it now looks as if the WILL be releasing Season Two in Black and White AND color, the same as they did with Season One. They have pushed their release date back a few weeks to October 25th, so they won't compete with their other releases, which includes The Jeffersons and Soap. Very Happy

Yay! I was very happy to read that the original B&W versions will be made available, and the release is so close to the tentative date for season 2 of TPF, so now I can alternate watching my 2 favorites (or more likely marathon both of them)! Very Happy
