It was a busy weekend and I can see that the Board has been quiet too.
So I guess I'll start this tardy edition of the Watching club.
Summary: After attending a indie film festival, Keith tries his hand a making his own starring his family. Of course, Danny gets involved in helping him and when Keith gets an offer to show it publicly his brothers and sisters have a problem with it.
Song: Hello, Hello.
First off, Keith has never learned his lesson about holding on to any money has he? Well, he did with the car, but it seems to haven't stuck.
and of course, he ends up with Danny as a business partner.
Why is only Keith surprised that with them being a popular group that someone would want to show a film of them, no matter what the quality, because of the PF name? Anybody heard of the Beatles or Elvis?
I do like the family loyalty that is shown however, when after Keith's film is cut and he's worried about his committment to the movie house the group comes up with a way for the film to be shown so Keith doesn't go back on his deal, even though it was made in haste. _________________ Kathy in St. Louis |

Listen closely to the soundtrack at the point where Keith and Danny are filming Laurie as Cleopatra trying to be sexy. During the first take, the snippet of music heard here by composer Hugo Montenegro is actually lifted from the former Screen Gems TV series he worked on, "I Dream of Jeannie"! |

If someone released a CD of incidental music from Screen Gems sitcoms, I would buy it! Heck, I usually hear it in my head as I walk around, anyway.
Some random observations: Good grief, Laurie was thin! I wonder if Reuben got his Shirley Temple wig from Cindy Brady. It's funny to see all of those different styled chairs in the garage! It looks like my aunt and uncle's apartment in the early 70s! Whenever they got a new dinette set, for some reason, they always kept one chair from the old one. Their place looked like a perpetual indoor garage sale! (And that's not even factoring in the Hummel figurines!)
"...also Gone With The Wind..."
It sure is fun to see the final montage again. Good times! I hope it's not blasphemy to say this, but I enjoy "Hello, Hello" without the clarinet. |
