I saw this movie the other day and a gotta question. It was fun, but believe it or not I fell asleep for a bit -- harder to believe if you knew how noisy the soundtrack was. Laughing So, maybe I missed something. BUT -- and stop reading if you want to see the film and haven't yet.

John Conner (Christian Bale) is trying to save his father in this film, yet his father is about 20 years old. I don't know the Terminator mythology too well, but when John Conner's father (Michael Biehn) time traveled to save Sarah Conner, didn't he die in the first film? And, if this current film follows time correctly, which I think it does, and John Conner is now Christian Bale's age, how can his father be about 20 years old? What am I missing? I don't want to go back and watch the first three Terminator films. I am confused?! Embarassed Confused

Not sure, but I think it has something to do with Spock getting sucked into a black hole and traveling back in time.
