Boy did Danny get himself into trouble just by trying to help. This is another of those classic sitcom plots I could see used on a number of family oriented shows (like Lucy, etc.) which are really fun to watch spin out of control and then get resolved before the half-hour is up. Mind you I say this not as a complaint in any way... it brings back to me a sense of nostolgia...
The opening with the song and Chris having trouble keeping a steady beat because of the strobe was clever... Reuben got to do another series of "wake up when I'm trying to get some rest" bits and I wonder if anyone has ever counted the number of times Danny said "Mr. Kinkaid, Danny Partridge here." over the course of the show.
The supporting cast of very familiar faces from sitcomland was a joy and their talents and effortless comedy kept the ball rolling.
Again there was a montage with the song (sort of like the chase scenes the Monkees would do on their show) and it all ends with a wedding....say, how many total weddings were there on the show in four years? "That'll Be the Day" is a favorite of mine from UTD and was used to great effect.
The cast was excellent and the family dynamics just keep building on themselves. In the rankings, I would put this ahead of last week's episode, but there are even better ones coming.
I look forward to reading what everyone else thinks...

Hi Jeff: :D
'Couldn't agree with you more. While I haven't seen this episode in a good bit, I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed it overall.
I loved the opening where poor, distracted, little Chris's drumming was thrown off by the effect of the strobelight, and everyone kept trying to keep time with him before finally giving up altogether -- putting the unfortunate, put-upon Rueben on the defensive, as always.
When the luscious LaVon makes her first appearance, and Reuben's and Keith's tongues all but hang out their mouths while trying to hit on her, but she winds up strolling off with Danny (to Reuben's and Keith's utter dismay), I cracked up. The scene where LaVon and Danny are at the stock exchange ( ) was funny as well, especially when the man behind them found himself taking Danny's advice seriously.
I really enjoyed the "hoods", Ski and Rocko (Vic Tayback, later of "Alice" fame, where Dave Madden eventually became a regular), who menaced the terrified, 10-year-old Partridge, and his trusty Donald Duck pool toy. Danny's visit to the LVPD was also memorable, given that the cop, initially, didn't believe him, of course (and who would!).
The chase scene through the park and streets of "Las Vegas" (which look surprisingly like those of our own, beloved sunny San Pueblo ) of Danny on the riding mower was just hilarious; the song "That'll Be The Day", also a personal favorite of mine from UTD, provided a very nice touch.
Of course, all's well that end's well (and I'm always so happy it does): this time with our favorite family attending the wedding of the lovely, buxom LaVon and her somewhat reluctant groom (in serious need of a steak for that eye his beloved "blackened" ) -- and an equally-reluctant Danny being "escorted" (yet again by Ski and Rocko) to the head of the receiving line to accept a grateful kiss from the radiant bride.
A very enjoyable episode overall and, like you say, Jeff, there's even BETTER ahead! And I, for one, can't wait! _________________ I wouldn't have missed it for the world. |

was behind again.
It's a fun episode.
Fun seeing all the guest stars.
and yes, at the wedding she does have 3 L's not just 2.
LaVon Levine LaVerne.
It was funny how the park and streets looked nothing like Las Vegas, but most definitely a "get happy" episode.
I think if one is watching a marathon I believe the phrase, "Mr. Kincaid, Danny Partridge here" could be a drinking game. He has used it more than once in a few episodes.
I am curious as to how Danny met LaVon in the first place, they don't say even though Shirley knew about her. I guess somewhere in the hotel? _________________ Kathy in St. Louis |

A very funny episode, although it's not one of my favorite's. It has some great gag's. I love the song, That'll Be The Day, and again, we get to hear just the basic bed tracks, which is a nice change from the full album version.
I, like Daydreamer72, also get a kick out of the streets of Las Vegas looking just like San Pueblo. |

Hey, Chris:
Maybe there oughta be a show called "The Streets Of San Pueblo"! From what I recall, they sure saw a lotta "action" back then!

Here's some fun stuff I observed while watching -- and dissecting this episode.
The pool area, which is situated across the street from the Partridge Family's home had a fa |

Scott, this is awesome stuff. I hope all this information gets added to the episode guide.
Or at least doesn't get lost. It's too priceless.

I'm hoping for a totally revamped People and Places section real soon. The Ranch tour will be expanded to include this stuff -- and more. Now, if I can just squeeze 30 hours into a day . . . . |
