Rolling Eyes Oh. How embarrassing. Sorry, Danny. I read the "here's an idea" as "there's an idea", and was referring to the Good Times idea. I was reading too fast (but would it have killed ya to start a new paragraph for the new idea??? Wink

Okay I'm all confused now. You guys gotta keep your eras straight. Think Bernie couldn't have played Reuben back in the day, he'd have been too young. And if he'd played Reuben on my idea for the BM Show, who would play Keith? The reason I had him play Keith is that I thought it would be funny if Bernie had secretly wanted to be Keith back in the 70's (maybe cuz Keith was gettin' so much play). Drool Drool Drool

Laughing danny! Of course, I was just being defensive over my stupidity!

Hey, I just noticed we're both in the "Tracy's sitter" category. How many more entries do we need to get out from under that heading? I don't know about you, but I find it kinda...creepy! Anxious

I always liked Tracy, I don't mind sitting with her, as long as she keeps chocolate smeared mits off me. Wink

You still haven't suggested an episode idea though KathySTL, got one?

Well, based on the other thread that was just locked the new episode could be the Partridges move from the Midwest to California.

P.S. I'm glad folks reminded me that the Exec pilot had them living in Ohio because something that always bothered me was that while the aired episodes always appeared to show them living in CA, the books always seemed to clearly state that they lived in the middle of the country if not the east coast. Always wondered about that. Smile

Interesting! I didn't realize the books set them outside California altogether! Is that true? I read them in the 70s, which was a much simpler time (I never blinked at Rhoda's CHRISTMAS episodes back then!). I barely remember the plots of the PF novels, but I have fond memories of the Laverne And Shirley books (which were much funnier than the slapsticky mess the TV show quickly devolved into)!

I remember reading the books when I was little too. I think they always involved a mystery, which I thought was a neat departure from the series format. I don't recall where they lived, although if the writers were given the original series premise/bible to follow, it's possible they used Ohio as a hometown. Just a guess. And no, I am NOT scouring through 17 novels to find out. Laughing

Were there really 17!? I went through a PF comic book buying frenzy awhile back and there were even more of those. I think I ended up with 10 before I came to my senses. The stories werent exactly inspiring, but the art wasn't bad.

The earlier novels are easier to find because they were also sold through the Scholastic book series (remember when you could mail-order books at school??). I think the later issues -- number 17 in particular -- are much harder to find. :D

Sorry -- I took your thread off topic. Wink

Actually I think I took the thread off topic when I mentioned the books.

But its interesting noticing the differences.

A nice final episode with Keith's high school graduation and Shirley wrapping up the series with something really meaningful. If Ricky had to sing it should be before, not at, the end.

Keith was in college during the fourth season so he would have graduated from high school at the end of the third season.
